1 Day Belfast City and the North of Ireland
A new future is here for Belfast. Once a place of great hardship, poverty and war, Belfast has regenerated itself and is moving fast. Eirtrail's 1 day tour takes you to this very interesting city with lots of time to explore the sights and go shopping. This is the place where the Titanic was built. Falls Road is only a short walking distance from the City Centre. Queen's college and the Town Hall are waiting for you to visit. The Town Hall is a neo-classical building with a statue of Queen Victoria guarding the entrance, a great dome with a whispering gallery some 180-odd feet above you and a huge mural on the main landing depicting the traditional industries of old Belfast. At the rear of the Town Hall you can find St. Malachy's church, one of the finest late Georgian buildings in the city. Explore the Crown Liquor Saloon, one of the most famous pubs to be found on the island with its heigh-ceilinged Victorian interior, the beautifully tiled bar and its stucco ceiling work.
If you are interested in a political tour, we offer the option to go with a local guide to the most interesting places. The Black Taxi Tours are the best way to visit the streets and corners where once armies roared and people struggled to have their voices heard. Eirtrail can arrange a Black Taxi Tour for you or organise a Black Taxi Guide to join your group. Please note that Black Taxi Tours are extra and not included in Eirtrail's displayed price. Group reductions are available.
